We are currently seeking submissions of LGBTQ2+ themed children’s picture books, middle grade and Young Adult novels. We would especially like to see stories with Trans characters and/or themes. Canadian authors only, please.
Thank you for your interest in Rebel Mountain Press. In addition to the current call out, we are also seeking:
children's picture books and young adult literature featuring characters that are Indigenous or multiracial, LGBTQ2+, and/or belong to other marginalized groups. Stories with strong empowered female leads are especially encouraged, as are themes that explore social justice and awareness, equality, human and animal rights. High adventure stories are also accepted, as are those for reluctant readers.

WHAT TO SUBMIT In addition to a manuscript sample (as per the categories listed below), please include a cover letter that also explains what makes you the best person to tell this story, and a C.V. with information about academic history, relevant work and previous publishing credits (where applicable). TEEN / YOUNG ADULT FICTION NOVELS
Manuscripts of young adult fiction should be approximately 30,000-60,000 words in length. Please include 3 sample chapters, plus a detailed synopsis.
Manuscripts for reluctant readers should be approximately 12,000-20,000 words in length, and written in simple language with a non-complex structure and a small cast of characters. Please include 3 sample chapters, plus a detailed synopsis.
ADULT FICTION / MEMOIR / POETRY

GRAPHIC NOVELS A future goal is to publish graphic novels via our imprint, Summit Comics Publishing. We are looking for stories that will appeal to readers of all ages, told in graphic novel format. (We do not want manga or anime.) Submissions should include a cover letter, a C.V., and the full manuscript with complete text and illustrations. Send submissions to: firstname.lastname@example.org
